Dancers with disabilities are rarely seen in professional dance performance, yet dance offers a potential means of changing exclusionary societal perceptions of disability. This chapter explores the placing of the disabled body within a dance context and investigates how this placement can be theorised in terms of inclusion, by using a framework based on contemporary attachment theory.
