Moral objectivity

toward a new understanding of intuition

William J. Hague

pp. 349-356

Abstract

This paper maintains that the idea of intuition as a source of moral objectivity merits deeper consideration. By using the core paradigm of Positive Disintegration theory, and thus seeing intuition as a multilevel concept, new richness of meaning is brought out and important distinctions regarding intuition's psychological functioning can be made. A hermeneutic dialogue between individuals at various levels of development offers the possibility of getting at moral objectivity through levels of authentic subjectivity.
